Artist Statement
I happen upon these counted cross stitch blocks two years ago in a store in Hutto, Texas. My first thought was, “what a treasure, there’s a lot of work going unappreciated.” My next thought was, how better to honor the person’s labor than to put them in a quilt to be enjoyed by many. My hope is that this quilt will inspire others to appreciate the work of labor and love that has gone before us.
