This “borders quilt” was a quilt that was made using the skills I learned from a class I took from Winnie Fleming about pieced borders. I learned how to take simple blocks and turn them in to stunning pieced borders.

This quilt was made using the skills I learned from a pieced borders class I took from Winnie Fleming. I pieced and custom quilted this quilt and I can’t wait to display it at my shop, Two Chicks Quilting. My dear friend Missy Klimitchek put the final touches on this quilt by hand stitching the binding for me.

Artist Statement
This quilt took me about a year to complete. I worked on it then had to think about what I wanted to do next so it took me a while to finish. I also custom quilted this quilt on my Handi Quilter Amara and ProStitcher, it was my first custom quilting and I learned a lot with it. I lovingly have called it my “Casket Quilt” and told my family they better put it on my casket when I die. I have really enjoyed this project and can’t wait to start another similar quilt.
