Life is Better at the Barn

Life is Better at the Barn, Machine Quilting
Life is Better at the Barn
This pattern, designed by Amber Plemones of Sew Simple Quilts, just asked to be created for the Houston Rodeo Quilt Show. The quilt is fusible applique and with a machine satin stitch around all the silhouettes. It is pieced with kona black fabric as frames around each block. The blocks are set together with a pieced sashing of red barn wood look fabric. The background and backing are both from the grunge fabric line. I quilted it with a chicken wire motif.

Artist Statement
Life is Better at the Barn represents the many years spent at the barn as a 4-Her and a 4-H and FFA parent. Many of life's valuable lessons can be learned at the barn while working with livestock. Responsiblity, discipline and compassion are just a few of the life skills and character building qualities learned at the barn.
Life is "still" Better at the Barn. My "Barn" is now a place where people gather, the Red Barn Quilt Retreat. Friendship, fellowship and creativity are a few of the many qualities that make "Life is Better at the Barn " the perfect motto for the Red Barn Retreat.
